Well, my first preaching experience is officially in the books ... and I feel confident in saying it went well. God gave me confidence, a clear mind and the words to speak. I spoke on following Jesus, which is easier said than done. I used the text Mark 1:16-20 (when Jesus picked his first disciples) and they, unconditionally and enthusiastically, followed Him. With so many things we can follow today, we must choose to follow Jesus. Following the service, and since in e-mails, I have humbly accepted kind and affirming compliments. I couldn’t be happier that my first sermon was given to my church family. After the service, I learned that Mom was quite paparazzi-like taking pictures throughout the sermon. Bryon is still on the radio ... after waking up at 3am for 10 years, Bryon is now hosting the afternoon show on THE PEAK 104.1 (in Bend) from 2p to 7p. This new shift allows Bryon to tackle his new, full-time position at First Baptist Church - leading the middle school ministry as its director. Shawna left the radio industry in March 2009 to serve part-time at First Baptist Church leading the children's ministry and to spend lots of time with Alyssa.
